Re: Rashford
You can compare the 2 players Eerie.

Both are very talented players that have lost their way and need a fresh start elsewhere.

Of course Rashford will cost a lot more because he is 5 years younger and has been more prolific than Lingard.

From what I gather he’s only got 1 year left on his deal as well so 70 million is unlikely. Maybe 50 million at a push but considering we spent over 25 million on Vlasic from the Russian League I would say it’s far less risky to pay double for Rashford.

He would go great for us I’m sure of it.

Lingard & Rashford together along with Bowen & Antonio would sort out our forward line for next season.

Not going to happen but would love it to.

You can't compare the 2 players at all.

Lingard was a loan deal, on relatively acceptable wages. I was for it at the time, fwiw. And he hadn't played for a while because he was looking after his sick mum.

Rashord is a talent, but he's going to cost you somewhere in the region of £70mil transfer fee, and it's widely reported he's on about £200k a week. You'd want him to be brilliant ffs, but seeing as he's at the start of his peak age as a footballer, it's shocking how bad he is at the moment, and that's for the club he supports. It's a big gamble for anyone at that money, if he can't be bothered breaking a nut for Man Utd will he anywhere else?

Newcastle will take him.

This is just United trying to offload their 'problem' players. Just remember - if they can't unload these highly paid flops, they can't buy anyone else...

Re: Rashford
scrap that, I think I'm with you.... 23 goals and assists combined, compared to Rashfords 36 - looks much more like it!

Re: Rashford
Nagel - out of interest where are you getting those stats from?

In terms of goals, Bowen hasn't event scored 23 goals for us the whole time he's been at the club so I can't see it being 23 for this season only?

Not trying to call you out on data as I know that some sources can be misleading and some can be difficult to determine.

If you look on Wikipedia, they have a season breakdown of goals scored and Bowen is on 12 goals in all competitions this season, and Rashford was on 21 goals scored for last season in all comps.

"The people on here that are saying he’s shit or overrated etc are probably the same ones that were saying similar things when Lingard joined us last year."

Not me, I supported the Lingard loan signing last January, despite many on here saying he would be a terrible signing.

I did call out Benrahma as being shit, Championship level player from the moment he signed though. And that's been proven correct given he has lost his place this season to Lanzini following a string of terrible performances.

Re: Rashford
Double swoop. Take Rashford and Lingard from Man united this summer.

Another centre back and the long term replacement for Fab, Henderson from united wouldn't be a bad shout or the WAB lad.

if we could sprinkle a centre back in there as well then i think that would be a very good transfer window

FMOB

Moyes managed Man U in 2013-2014. Pre Rashford.

Where the fuck did the time go. Doesn’t seem that long ago that Moyes was in charge at Man U.

We obviously can’t afford his wages but out of curiosity how did he do when Moyes was in charge at Man U ? Anybody know?

Re: Rashford
Rashford absolutely stunk the place out last night when he came on as a substitute. Seemed like he was playing for the Atletico Madrid cause.

It is clear his priorities are now recording WOKE adverts for Google and the like and pressuring the government to waste yet more taxpayers' money on feeding the multiple kids of sponging scroungers during school holidays (in addition to the standard generous handouts they already get).

The fella is a completely wrongun, just like his buddy Greenwood.

Re: Rashford
Just to clarify, those stats I quoted were in all competitions, not just league. So last season Rashford had 36 goals and assists in 57 games. Bowen so far this season has 23 goals and assists in 39 games, so not that far off really, and I wouldn't advocate us getting a player on Rashfords wages.

I only brought up the stats to show that he didn't suddenly become a worse player when he started that charity stuff.

Re: Rashford
He's a strange player. At times he looks mustard. At others it's easy to see why he was considered to be inferior to Ashley FLETCHER in their youth teams.

Eerie Descent 10:11 Wed Mar 9
Re: Rashford
It's all irrelevant, as he won't be joining us under any circumstances, but at the money being quoted, 21 goals and 15 assists would be the sort of return you'd want back. You're looking at what, £70mil and 200 bags a week?

We'll see, hopefully the lad will concentrate on football soon and get back to it. I think he is a phenomenal talent, who's clearly been exploited by those with different agendas. Even if there was a chance, we can't be taking risks like that.

Ha, point taken Jibs.

But

20/21: 21 goals, 15 assists

That is phenominal. Imagine someone doing that for West Ham. Jarrod Bowen 8 goals 8 assists this season.
